Deedles & Caldwell Bring “Swing Era Style” Back to Kohler
KOHLER, Wis. – Jan. 29, 2010 – The voices of Diane “Deedles” Schuur and Bobby Caldwell—whose music has inspired scores of young, modern jazz artists—will make a one-
night performance stop at the Kohler Memorial Theatre (260 School St., Kohler) on Friday,
Feb. 12, 7 p.m.
Their dual performance of “The Sing in Swing,” which is a look-back at the swing and big band era, will enchant audiences with the swooning of Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald and other era greats—a fitting experience just two eves before Valentine’s Day.
These renowned voice talents celebrated in the music industry boast solo careers that span three decades. Born without sight, Grammy Award-winning Schuur supplements her haunting voice with piano prowess to remain a jazz/pop force, while Caldwell’s versatile style makes him a smooth live performer and songwriter, whose music continues to influence today’s young artists.
This show is the second in a three-part series for the Kohler Foundation’s annual Distinguished Guest Series. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased online at www.kohlerfoundation.org/tickets or by calling (920) 458-1972. Group discounts are available.
