Scholarship Recipients Share Their College Plans
The Brown Deer Scholarship Board awarded scholarships to 20 graduates of the Class of 2009 at Brown Deer High School. Recipients were awarded $1,500 scholarships. Here is a profile of the award winners who plan to attend college in Wisconsin. Thank you to the Brown Deer community for your generous support.
Jacey Bonavia will attend UW Madison. Her degree is undecided. She was the class valedictorian. She attended Brown Deer schools since kindergarten.
Kathleen Easton plans to attend MSOE to pursue a degree in Architectural Engineering. Her greatest achievement was receipt of community service awards. She, too, has attended BD schools since kindergarten.
Justin Gordon will attend UW-LaCrosse. His major is undecided. He made it to the 3rd round of playoffs in football his junior year. He has been in the district for 4 years.
Sadie Haeflinger will also attend UW-LaCrosse studying to become either a doctor or a nurse. Her greatest achievement was qualifying for DECA Nationals 2 years in a row. She was also in the Top Ten in her class. She has been in the district for 4 years.
David Kuczynski will attend UW-Whitewater to pursue a degree in Accounting. His biggest achievement is making it to state competition in baseball and being named the Athlete of the Year. He has been in the district since kindergarten.
Kristin Lillie will attend UW-LaCrosse to pursue a degree in Physical Therapy with a minor in Spanish. Her biggest achievement was running in the State Cross Country Meet. She attended BD schools since kindergarten.
Kathryn Michalski will attend UWM to pursue a degree in accounting and art. She was a member of the National Honor Society and was ranked #15 in the class. She has attended BD schools since kindergarten.
