1 A male, age and residence not released, was cited for retail sale of tobacco to a minor after selling a cigar to a 17-year-old girl at Open Pantry, 501 W. Brown Deer Road, at 6 p.m. Nov. 17. The girl was working for a private firm used by the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office as part of the underage enforcement operation. The clerk admitted not asking the girl her age or for an ID, saying he had been told about this operation but thought it occurred last week.
2 A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for a probation violation, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, speeding 48 miles per hour in the 30-mph zone and, along with a 16-year-old girl (residence not released), possession of 2.7 grams of marijuana in the 5900 block of West Brown Deer Road at 11:50 a.m. Oct. 27.
3 A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for possession of marijuana after the car he was in was stopped for speeding 41 mph in a 25-mph zone in the 8800 block of North Deerwood Drive at 11:15 p.m. Oct. 29. Four baggies with 3.4 grams of marijuana were found under the passenger seat.
4 A Brown Deer male student, age and residence not released, was arrested for disorderly conduct after causing a disturbance during a football game at Brown Deer High School, 8060 N. 60th St., at 8:40 p.m. Nov. 1. He was first warned and told to calm down after swearing, yelling and threatening another student. He left the stadium but continued to be disruptive and police were called.
5 A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving (with two prior convictions), driving while having a revoked license, refusal to take a breath test and speeding 54 mph in a 40-mph zone in the 5100 block of West Brown Deer Road at 1 a.m. Nov. 7. He denied drinking at first then said he had one beer. His preliminary breath test was 0.104 and after a warrant was issued, he was taken for a blood draw.
6 Two males, ages and residences not released, were arrested for theft, prowling and obstructing police after a report of three people breaking into cars in the 8900 block of North Park Plaza Court at 11:15 p.m. Nov. 7. Two of the suspects ran into a nearby store and were arrested.
7 A female student, age and residence not released, was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting an officer during gym class at Brown Deer High School, 8060 N. 60th Street, at 2 p.m. Nov. 8.
· Two Brown Deer women, ages not released, who are roommates were arrested — one for disorderly conduct/domestic violence related and the other for a warrant — after the first woman, who was moving out, attacked the other over ownership of a video game system at 11 a.m. Nov. 9. A third party called police to report the suspect choked the woman and pulled her hair.
8 Tools valued at $1,100 were stolen from the 8000 block of North 37th Street over the last two weeks and reported Nov. 9.
9 A laptop computer and a tablet computer, together valued at $1,200, were taken from an apartment in the 500 block of West Bradley Road between 4:30 p.m. Nov. 15 and 12:30 a.m. Nov. 16. When the resident arrived home she saw some of her possessions had been moved, that a screen on a bedroom window had been tampered with and the patio door was slightly open. She then discovered her items were gone.
10 A 22-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of controlled substances and battery/domestic violence related after a witness saw him hit a woman in the 5100 block of North Port Washington Road at 6:10 p.m. Nov. 7. He and the woman had been arguing about the transfer of their child. An odor of marijuana was evident in the car and a police dog, K-9 Boomer, was called to the scene. Police found 0.2 grams of cocaine, 0.6 grams of heroin and a trace of marijuana.
11 Police arrested a 32-year-old Reedsville man for driving while impaired, with three prior convictions, driving with a revoked license, and possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia and a 30-year-old Valders man for party to the crimes of heroin possession and drug paraphernalia in the 5500 block of North Port Washington Road at 2:40 p.m. Nov. 8. A witness called police after seeing a man slumped over in the car. The man was medically treated and cleared. Police recovered 0.45 grams of heroin along with syringes and spoons.
12 A 33-year-old Glendale man was arrested for possession of methadone, a Schedule II narcotic, driving with expired registration, imprudent speed and a hit-and-run accident after he hit a pole and then got into another car and left at North Port Washington and West Green Tree roads at 8:15 p.m. Nov. 8. The man was found at his residence and told police he fled because he was scared.
13 A woman waiting at a bus stop was the victim of a robbery after a man ran up behind her, took her purse and fled in the 300 block of West Silver Spring Drive at 8:40 p.m. Nov. 8. The purse and contents, including a cellphone, was valued at over $400.
14 Two women, ages 19 and 21, residences not released, were arrested for escorts without a license at La Quinta Inn, 5110 N. Port Washington Road — one at 11:15 p.m. Nov. 8 and the other at 1 a.m. Nov. 9. Police had set up meetings with the women who advertised on a known website used by prostitutes.
15 A purse valued at $450 was taken from a car in a driveway in the 4600 block of North Elm Tree Road on Nov. 8 or 9. A window was broken to gain entry.
16 A 46-year-old woman, residence not available, was arrested for theft of cologne and battery to a loss prevention officer at Sears, 5900 N. Port Washington Road, at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 9. The woman put cologne valued at $262 into her purse and as she fled the store punched the officer. She was with another women and child and when confronted by police she screamed at the child, "Why did you steal this stuff?"
17 A 23-year-old Milwaukee woman was mailed a citation for theft of 22 items, valued at $591, from Boston Store, 5701 N. Lydell Ave., at 3:50 p.m. Nov. 9. The woman, who had hidden the items in her purse (except for a sweater, which she was wearing) ran from the store. An employee was able to grab the purse as the women got into a car. She was traced by identification found in her purse. All items were recovered, except for the sweater.
18 A 53-year-old woman, residence not available, was arrested for theft of children's clothing from Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 7:15 p.m. Nov. 9. The woman took 25 items, valued at $545, putting them in her purse and under her coat but was stopped as she attempted to leave the store.
19 Residents reported that a woman they let into their home stole a tablet computer valued at $160 in the 5700 block of North 27th Street at 3 a.m. Nov. 10. The woman had rang their doorbell, telling them she had just been mugged and the man was still out there. Once inside, the woman asked for water. As the wife went to get it, the husband went upstairs for his phone and the next thing they knew, the woman ran out the door and the tablet was gone.
20 A 16-year-old girl, residence not available, was arrested for disorderly conduct, criminal damage to property and theft of a shirt from Sears, 5900 N. Port Washington Road, at 3 p.m. Nov. 10. The girl struggled with employees in the store and then with police. She spit on officers, so a spit hood had to be used. At the station, as her fingerprints were being taken, she broke the finger print mechanism. She was turned over to her mother.
21 A wallet with credit cards was taken from a locked locker in the men's locker room at LA Fitness, 5610 N. Bayshore Drive between 2 and 2:45 p.m. Nov. 11. As soon as the theft was discovered, the man went to his bank and was told that charges had been made to one or more of his cards: $740 at the Sunglass Hut in Bayshore and $4,400 at the Best Buy in Fox Point.
No reportable incidents this week.
22 An attempted burglary was reported in the 2200 block of East Newton Avenue at 11:50 p.m. Nov. 9. The residents heard glass breaking and banging at the front door. When they went to look, they found the front-door window broken. Entry was not gained.
23 A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and on a warrant after he was stopped for failure to obey a traffic sign in the 4200 block of North Downer Avenue at 1:17 a.m. Nov. 10. A trace amount of marijuana and a pipe and grinder with residue were found in the car, along with a loaded snub-nose revolver.
24 A just-delivered package containing newly purchased clothing was taken from an unsecured apartment lobby in the 1700 block of East Newton Avenue on Oct 24 and reported Nov. 12. Items valued at over $190 were in the package.
25 A car was entered and rummaged through but nothing taken in the 4200 block of North Woodburn Street on Nov. 12 or 13. No damage was reported.
24 A 2011 Scion TC valued at $23,000 was taken from behind an apartment building in the 4400 block of North Oakland Avenue between 6:30 p.m. Nov. 12 and 7 a.m. Nov. 13.
· A number of Whitefish Bay residents reported fraudulent use of their credit or debit cards, some issued by BMO Bank, between Nov. 6 to Nov. 12. Charges were made to their cards in various locations including Florida, Mexico, Virginia and Wisconsin.
25 Residents reported that someone had just rattled their side door in the 600 block of East Carlisle Avenue at 5:35 a.m. Nov. 10. About the same time, a subject was seen running north through yards in the 700 block of East Day Avenue, but police were unable to locate that person.
· A Whitefish Bay male came to the police station asking for help removing a handcuff from his wrist since he lost the keys. According to police, the cuff was not real and they couldn't removed it. The resident said he would try to find the key again or just cut it off.
26 A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for trespassing in the 5500 block of North Kent Avenue after police received a report of him exposing himself at Bayshore Town Center at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 10. After he was cited for trespassing he was turned over to Glendale police.
27 Jewelry, liquor, prescription medicine, cash and other items were taken during a burglary in the 800 block of East Glen Avenue between Nov. 8 and the morning of Nov. 10. A rear bathroom window was pried open for entry.
28 A cordless drill and battery valued at $180 were taken from an unlocked detached garage in the 600 block of East Beaumont Avenue between Oct. 31 and Nov. 12.
29 A Minnesota resident called police Nov. 12 explaining after he sold his car in July he has received a notice his car was in an accident in Illinois, ran a red light in Indiana and was issued seven overnight parking tickets in Whitefish Bay. He asked police to help find that car and remove the plate if found. Police located the car and recovered that plate in the 100 block of East Fairmount Avenue at 12:50 a.m. Nov. 12. A man, the owner of the car, age and residence not released, was issued the parking tickets.
30 A Whitefish Bay girl, age not released, was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after she was reported as a missing juvenile at 2:45 p.m.. Nov. 12. She was found near North Oakland and East Hartford avenues at 1:15 a.m. Nov. 13. She was turned over to Milwaukee Bureau of Child Welfare for protective custody.
31 A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for standing/loitering in a roadway after he was reported walking down the middle of the road and then refusing to identify himself in the 300 block of East School Road at 12:30 a.m. Nov. 15.
32 Three cars were entered but nothing reported taken in the 5600 block of North Shore Drive between 10 p.m. Nov. 16 and about 1 a.m. Nov 17. One resident reported items from his glove box were scattered about.
33 A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, after a report of him speeding in the 5000 block of North Lake Drive at 12:40 a.m. Nov. 17. His BAC was 0.24.
NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT
· Firefighters responded to 119 calls, 79 emergency medical and 40 fire/rescue, Nov. 11 to Nov. 17.
· Firefighters responded to a call of a fully engulfed engine fire in a car within five feet of a garage in the 5200 block of North Iroquois Avenue, Glendale, at 11:15 a.m. Nov. 11. The fire was extinguished. The driver said he was charging the battery when the fire started.
