Police Report: June 4

BAYSIDE

1A 23-year-old Ingleside, Ill., woman was arrested for drunken driving in the 8800 block of North Port Washington Road at 2:40 a.m. May 23. She ran from the car into a lot, later telling police she "had to pee." She also said she was driving because her friend was too drunk to drive. At first, she refused to take a breath test but changed her mind "just to see" what it was. Her blood alcohol content was 0.15. Two plastic bags holding 1 gram of marijuana were found in the car.

2A 36-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving and speeding over 75 mph in a 55 mph zone at in the 8700 block of Interstate 43 at 1:50 a.m. May 25. The man, who admitted having a few beers, had a BAC of 0.09.

3A 25-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving after being stopped for a defective taillight in the 8700 block of I-43 at 1 a.m. May 27. He admitted having "a couple" of drinks. His BAC was 0.10.

4A 19-year-old Thiensville man was arrested for violation of absolute sobriety after he was seen driving without headlights in the 9200 block of I-43 at 2:30 a.m. May 30. He failed field sobriety tests including reciting the alphabet from E to T saying "EFGLMNQRST." He admitted drinking but didn't think he was impaired. His BAC was 0.12.

BROWN DEER

5A catalytic converter was taken from a car causing $1,100 damage in the 4000 block of West Rivers Edge Circle between noon and 2 p.m. May 16.

6A car was reported vandalized with a window broken and salad dressing and eggs smeared on it in the 8100 block of North 37th Street on May 18 or 19. Damage was $120.

7A 21-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for providing alcohol to five women and those women were arrested for underage drinking after a report of a loud party in the 8500 block of North 46th Street at 12:15 a.m. May 19. The women, ages 18 and 20 from Brown Deer and Milwaukee, had blood alcohol contents from 0.05 to 0.08. Beer and vodka were found in the home.

8Two 10-year-old Milwaukee boys were referred to Milwaukee County Children's Court on May 27 on allegations of disorderly conduct and damage to property at the Brown Deer Library, 5600 W. Bradley Road, on May 19 and May 20. The boys were seen on surveillance video on both days turning on the hose next to the library, taking a drink and then spraying water on the library door and into the drop box. The boys were interviewed at their Milwaukee homes and both admitted the incidents. Damage to books, CDs and VHS tapes left in the drop box, along with hall carpeting, was more than $950.

9A 15-year-old Milwaukee girl, reported as a missing juvenile from a Milwaukee group home, was arrested for underage drinking, truancy and disorderly conduct in the 8000 block of North 66th Street at 12:15 a.m. May 19. The girl, who had passed out, admitted having four or five shots of straight vodka in a car near the high school. She was returned to the group home but was again reported missing at 1 p.m. May 22. She was found and returned to the home.

10An empty nylon bag was taken from a locked car and a purse left behind at Family Table Restaurant, 6598 W. Brown Deer Road, late afternoon May 20. Damage to a window was $120.

11A 35-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft and a warrant for theft at Kohl's, 9060 N. Green Bay Road, at 4:30 p.m. May 23. The woman entered the store with a TJ Maxx cart with a comforter, shoes and a Kohl's bag inside. She picked up two pair of shoes valued at $120, candles and earrings, value not listed, and put them in the Kohl's bag and left the store. At first she said she "accidentally" put items in the bag but then admitted she did it intentionally because she "wanted something nice."

12Three cars were broken into and three GPS units taken at Courtyard at Marriot, 5200 W. Brown Deer Road, on May 23 or 24. The units are valued at $100 each and damage to each car was estimated at $250.

13A 21-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for drunken driving, driving with a suspended license, no proof of insurance and lane deviation and her passengers, two 19-year-old Milwaukee women, for underage drinking in the 6300 block of West Brown Deer Road at 1:45 a.m. May 26. When asked if she'd been drinking, the driver said, "Not much. I actually didn't drink at all." Her BAC was 0.11. One passenger, who was passed out in the car, had a BAC of 0.09.

14A 42-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for drunken driving, suspended registration, suspended license and failure to have insurance in the 6300 block of West Brown Deer Road at 9:30 p.m. May 26. She said she had not been drinking and she did have a legal license but didn't have it with her. Her BAC was 0.15.

15Seven soccer balls and 20 baseballs valued at $425 were taken from an outdoor shed at YMCA, 9250 N. Green Bay Road, on May 26 or 27. The shed was forced open.

16A GPS unit, a video recorder, two CDs and six $2 bills with a total value of $438 were taken from an unlocked car in the 8400 block of North 63rd Street on May 26 or 27.

Three domestic incidents were reported this week.

GLENDALE

17A 15-year-old Milwaukee girl was arrested for disorderly conduct for spitting at the driver of a Milwaukee County bus in the 1000 block of West Silver Spring Drive at 10:45 p.m. May 23. The girl was angry when she and other juveniles boarded the bus with expired transfers and were told they had to pay or exit. A large amount of spit was found on a window next to the driver. She denied spitting but admitted sneezing saying the spit might have come out accidentally. She was also cited for trespassing after a report of her being at Bayshore Town Center earlier after being banned.

18Two 17-year-old girls and a 15-year-old girl all of Milwaukee were arrested for theft of clothing valued at $495 from Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 6:45 p.m. May 24. The girls took the clothing and flat purses into a fitting room and exited with full purses and leaving an empty fitting room. One said they took the items because they didn't have money.

19More than $450 cash was taken from a desk at Hearts to Home Senior Home Care, 6340 N. Green Bay Ave., on May 24 or 25. There was sign of forced entry and file and desk drawers were opened.

20A 63-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft at Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 4:15 p.m. May 26. The woman had taken 22 items valued at $270 and left the store without paying. She said she wanted to give the items to her family who are staying in a shelter.

A 23-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested May 30 for substantial battery/domestic to his girlfriend in the 5200 block of North Mohawk Avenue at 12:30 a.m. May 27. The victim and the suspect had been at a party where he became angry and bit her on the neck and arm causing pain. When she was dropped off at her family's home, a fight began between the suspect and at least two family members. The suspect, who said he was cut on both arms by one of the victim's brothers, did admit biting the victim's neck because she didn't listen to him but said he wasn't trying to "hurt her badly" because when "you love someone you don't try to hurt them bad." The victim said the man had abused her in the past.

21A $195 purse, credit cards, rings valued at $2,500, a $100 key and $472 in cash were taken from a locked room at the Radisson Hotel, 7065 N. Port Washington Road, early evening May 27. There was sign of forced entry. According to a police report, the hotel "compensated her for her inconvenience."

22A bathroom window was broken but entry not gained in the 2100 block of West Woodbury Lane from midnight to 7 a.m. May 28. Damage was $200.

23Five garages were entered in the 4800 and 4900 blocks North Iroquois and North Mohawk avenues and a car was taken from the 4800 block of North Iroquois Avenue on May 29 or 30. Various tools and equipment were taken including lawn movers, weed trimmers and tools and a toolbox. In some cases, cars were also entered and rummaged through. The value of the stolen items for each residence ranged from $400 to $1,000. The car was a 1996 Olds Cierra valued at $2,000.

RIVER HILLS

24A 21-year-old River Hills man was arrested for an outstanding warrant and along with a 20-year-old Milwaukee woman for disorderly conduct after they caused a disturbance in the 800 block of West Green Tree Road at 6:30 p.m. May 25. The two were arguing when the woman swung a frying pan filled with food at the man. She told police it didn't hit him.

SHOREWOOD

WHITEFISH BAY

25A $799 cellphone was taken during a party attended by 50 to 100 people in the 6300 block of North Lake Drive between 3 and 5 p.m. May 26.

26Two 18-year-old men of Whitefish Bay and Naperville, Ill., were mailed citations for underage drinking after a report of an underage drinking party in the 5100 block of North Elkhart Avenue at 8 p.m. May 26.

27A 53-year-old Milwaukee man, a Milwaukee County bus driver, was mailed a citation for inattentive driving after he fell asleep, jumped a curb and hit a light pole and garbage can in the 100 block of West Silver Spring Drive at 7:25 a.m. May 27. No injuries were reported.

28A 62-year-old Whitefish Bay man was arrested for drunken driving and failure to yield to a pedestrian in the 5200 block of North Marlborough Drive at 3:40 p.m. May 29. His BAC was 0.16.

29A $1,000 snowblower was reported taken from the 4800 block of North Diversey Boulevard on May 30. It was last seen in January.

30Two 18-year-old Whitefish Bay men and a 17-year-old Milwaukee boy were arrested for criminal damage to property and underage drinking/possession after a report of them spraying white paint on doors at Whitefish Bay High School, 1200 E. Fairmount Ave., at 10:20 p.m. May 30. The Whitefish Bay men were arrested a few blocks away and the Milwaukee boy at his home. Clean up costs were $250.

31An attempted burglary was reported in the 4800 block of North Bartlett Avenue on June 1. Pry marks were found on a back door but entry was not gained.

32Two 19-year-old Whitefish Bay men were arrested for underage drinking after police saw one of them fall off his bike in the middle of the 5000 block of North Marlborough Avenue at 12:50 a.m. June. 3. No injuries were reported.

33Two 20-year-old men and a 19-year-old woman all of Milwaukee were arrested for underage drinking and violation of park hours at Big Bay Park, 5000 N. Palisades Road, at 10:25 p.m. June 3. A short time later, eight Milwaukee men and women ages 18 and 19 and one 23-year-old Milwaukee man were reported running around the area ending up in the park at 11:50 p.m. June 3. They were mailed citations for violation of park hours.

NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT

Firefighters responded to 121 calls, 97 emergency medical and 24 fire/rescue, May 28 to June 3.

34A Dumpster was reported "fully engulfed" in the 3900 block of North Murray Avenue, Shorewood, at 11:42 p.m. May 28. The fire was extinguished and no further damage was reported.
