1A woman reported the theft of her purse while at a restaurant in the 300 block of West Bender Road at 5 p.m. June 21. When it could not be found, she went home and searched for it there. She returned to the restaurant at 5:35 p.m. and was told the purse was found in a bathroom. However, the woman's Social Security card, a credit card and about $25 were missing.
2About $400 was taken from an employee's purse at Homestead Ridge, 225 E. Brown Deer Road, on June 16 or 17 and reported June 18. The purse was left on a shelf near the kitchen and dining room area.
3The locks on a Brown Deer Police Department speed trailer were vandalized in the 8400 block of North 52nd Street sometime May 16 to May 29. Damage was $400.
4A purse, GPS unit and two bottles of perfume with a total value of $261 were taken from a locked car in the student lot at Brown Deer High School, 8060 N. 60th St., between 8 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. May 31. Damage to a window was $400.
5Two LCD TVs, valued at $800, were taken from an apartment in the 9400 block of North Green Bay Road on June 1 or 2. There was no sign of forced entry.
6A 36-year-old man and two women, 26 and 23, all of Milwaukee were arrested for disorderly conduct after causing a disturbance inside and then outside Parkview Pub, 7651 N. Teutonia Ave., at 2:23 a.m. June 3. Witnesses reported one of the women slapped the man, caught on surveillance video, after he made verbal threats. The man said their fighting was "not a big deal" just over a "relationship issue." His blood alcohol content was 0.12 and the women's were 0.17 and 0.06.
7A $348 smartphone was taken when left unattended on a table while the owner went to get more food at Old Country Buffet, 6538 W. Brown Deer Road, at 6:30 p.m. June 9. When she couldn't find her phone, she called her number but no one answered. She then received a call from her phone but the caller hung up. It was tracked to the 4900 block of North 19th Place.
On June 12, a resident reported that after filing his tax return he was informed by the IRS that it was rejected because a form with his name and Social Security number had already been filed and that a refund of $4,000 had been deposited to a debit card with a nonexistent Chicago address. The case is under investigation.
8A 53-year-old New Berlin woman was arrested for theft of shirts and shoes valued at more than $200 from Kohl's, 9060 N. Green Bay Road, at 5:40 p.m. June 14. The woman carried an empty reusable grocery bag into a fitting room along with the items and left that room with a full bag. She checked out paying for two items but not the ones in the bag. When stopped she said "accidentally" forgot to pay for those.
9A 60-year-old Brown Deer woman was cited for dog at large and failure to license her dog after her Jack Russell Terrier attacked another dog and bit her in the 4500 block of West Dunwood Road at 10:55 a.m. June 14. Her dog got loose and attacked a dog being walked on leash and then bit her on the face and arms when she tried to stop it. She was taken to a clinic for her injuries before police arrived. Her dog was declared a "vicious dog" and was to be quarantined for 10 days.
10A 22-year-old man and an 18-year-old woman, both of Brown Deer, were arrested June 19 for theft of three checks from the 6500 block of North Lake Drive on May 25. The woman admitted taking the checks while she was at the residence working for a cleaning service and giving them to her boyfriend who cashed them for a total of $2,200. The man admitted cashing the checks saying he needed the money to pay rent. The woman was also arrested May 21 for theft of a check from a Brown Deer home while working for the same company.
11A business laptop computer valued at $2,500 was taken from the 100 block of East Bradley Road during the day May 23. The owner had a private moving sale with dozens of people in the home.
12Three 19-year-old men of Fox Point, River Hills and Sewickley, Pa., were arrested for underage drinking after the car they were in was stopped for speeding 35 in a 25 mph zone in the 900 block of East Bradley Road at 2:20 a.m. June 16. Their preliminary BACs were 0.0354, 0.052 and 0.089. The driver, a 19-year-old Fox Point man, who had not been drinking, was warned for speeding.
13A purse and contents including $200 cash and a $75 prepaid gift card were taken from a room at the Radisson Hotel, 7065 N. Port Washington Road, between midnight and 1 p.m. June 15.
14Burglaries were reported at Oberhaus Automotive and North Shore Group, 6161 N. Flint Road, on June 15 or 16. Oberhaus reported more than $1,000 of car repair equipment taken. The list of items taken from North Shore Group was not available. Damage to a door was $300.
15A 13-year-old Milwaukee boy was arrested for theft with a shielding device, resisting arrest and along with a 12-year-old Milwaukee boy for theft of items totaling more than $200 from Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, H&M, 5765 N. Bayshore Drive and Charming Charlie, 516 W. Silver Spring Drive, the afternoon of June 16. The 13-year-old ran from police and when stopped said he found the shielding device on the ground. The boys admitted taking the items because they didn't have any money.
16A 72-year-old Neshkoro, Wis., man was arrested for disorderly conduct after yelling at a woman and striking her on the back of the head during a recital at Cardinal Stritch University, 6801 N. Yates Road, about 7:30 p.m. June 16. The woman sat in front of the man and while whispering to friends, he loudly told her to quit jumping around. When she whispered again to a friend, he hit the back of her head causing it to "whip forward." The woman then told him they should go to the lobby to talk and as they did, he grabbed her arm and dragged her. The man told a different story. He admitted asking her to be quiet but said she yelled at him. He also denied hitting her head but did admit grabbing her arm as they walked.
17A 42-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for theft of a $310 DVD player and $106 worth of clothing from Sear's, 5900 N. Port Washington Road, at 12:30 p.m. June 17. An employee saw the man walk out of the store with the clothing but he disappeared before he could be stopped. However, he returned a few minutes later this time taking the DVD player and this time he was stopped. The clothing was recovered from his car.
18A 26-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested at her home for disorderly conduct after punching an employee in the chest at Cellphone Accessories, 5800 N. Bayshore Drive, at 4:40 p.m. June 18. The woman came to the store to return a car charger which was damaged but the employee said he would not allow the return. The woman began yelling and punched the man while trying to grab her receipt. She then left the store.
19A 36-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for soliciting without a permit after complaints of her asking for money and to use people's cellphones in the 2200 block of West Good Hope Road at 7 p.m. June 18. The woman admitted asking for money in "exchange for services such as cutting lawns." She also admitted not having a permit.
20A woman reported being the victim of a robbery of an electronic tablet valued at $858 she just purchased from the Apple Store, 5715 N. Centerpark Way, at 4 p.m. June 22. She had left the store and was walking through a breezeway when a man came up and grabbed the iPad and fled.
21A rifle valued at $280 was taken from a truck at La Quinta Inn, 5110 N. Port Washington Road, on June 19 or 20. A window was broken to gain entry causing $200 damage.
22A 39-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for a "sudden move into traffic" after walking in front of cars, blocking traffic at Port Washington and Hampton roads at 11:15 p.m. June 21. The man, who was not wearing a shirt, carried a chain saw. He was taken to a hospital.
No reportable incidents this week.
23An unlocked bicycle valued at $500 was taken from a yard in the 2200 block of East Menlo Avenue on June 14 or 15.
24A 34-year-old man who said he was homeless is the suspect in the theft of a 6-month-old German Shepard taken from the 3500 block of the Oak Leaf Bike Trail about 9:30 p.m. June 15. The owner of the dog, who said she hired the man to help train it, was walking the dog on the trail followed by the man riding his bike which had a cart attached. She said the man all of sudden picked up her dog, put it the cart and rode away.
25An 18-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving after he was seen driving erratically in the 1100 block of East Capitol Drive at 12:10 a.m. June 17. The man's car was severely damaged and he admitted hitting a parked car in Milwaukee. His BAC was 0.17.
26A woman reported a man attempted to take her cellphone and touched himself indecently as she waited at a bus shelter in the 3900 block of North Oakland Avenue at 12:20 a.m. June 17. The man rode up on a bicycle with some cans of beer and asked her if she wanted one. When she said no, she reported that the man began to touch himself indecently but stopped when she screamed. He then tried to take her phone and after she punched him in the face and groin, he rode off. He was in his 40s wearing a sweat shirt and appeared intoxicated.
27A resident reported that all four sidewalls of her car tires had been slashed and the passenger door and trunk scratched in the 1400 block of East Elmdale Court on June 16 or 17. Damage was more than $600. A witness reported seeing a "heavy set" man at the scene.
28A home was broken into in the 2600 block of East Shorewood Boulevard sometime between 4:30 p.m. June 17 and 12:15 a.m. June 18. A screen was cut to gain entry but nothing was reported taken.
29A 2005 Nissan SUV was taken from the Shorewood Library parking lot, 3930 N. Murray Ave., sometime 10 p.m. June 20 to 6 a.m. June 21. Also taken was a cellphone left in the car.
30A $150 stereo was taken from a locked car in the 3500 block of North Oakland Avenue between 6 p.m. June 19 and 7:30 a.m. June 21. Damage to a window was $100.
31An 18-year-old West Allis man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, a pipe, after he and other males were reported loitering on the beach in the 3900 block of North Lake Drive at 5:30 p.m. June 18. The others were sent on their way.
32A 24-speed bicycle, a helmet and two cable locks valued at $490 were taken from Whitefish Bay Middle School, 1144 E. Henry Clay St., the morning of June 20.
33Two men, 18 and 19, and two women, 19 and 20, all of Milwaukee were arrested for underage possession of alcohol and underage drinking at Klode Park, 5900 N. Lake Drive, at 9:30 p.m. June 20.
34A 27-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for possession of alcohol in the park, littering and along with a 34-year-old Milwaukee man for violation of park hours at Klode Park, 5900 N. Lake Drive at 1:37 a.m. June 21.
35A safe with more than $200 cash and $600 in checks was taken from Indulge Studios in the Berkeley Building, 407 E. Silver Spring Drive, on June 22 or 23. Entry was gained by breaking the glass on a door causing more than $200 damage.
36A 16-year-old Whitefish Bay boy reported seeing another boy riding his bicycle near the 5700 block of North Lake Drive about 9 p.m. June 24. Police found a 13-year-old Whitefish Bay boy riding the bike. He said he found it at the high school and thought it was abandoned. It was returned to its owner.
