Brown Deer man faces battery charges for tackling man
Brown Deer — A 31-year-old Brown Deer man who knocked down another man outside of the Rite Hite YMCA at 5:45 a.m. Feb. 10 faces state charges of battery.
According to police:
Tyrone T. Harvey allegedly knocked down a 53-year-old man who was going into the main entrance on the west side of the YMCA after first asking to talk to him. The man refused, and then Harvey tackled him, knocking him to the ground and patting his pockets. Another YMCA member who saw what was happening ran to assist the victim, and Harvey fled.
Lt. Robert Halverson said officers routinely patrol that area in the early morning and were nearby. They located Harvey one block from the YMCA and arrested him.
The victim had a cut and bump on the side of his head, but did not need medical treatment.
