Seven-hour police standoff ends peacefully
Brown Deer police, with the assistance of the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office SWAT team, arrested a 53-year-old Brown Deer man in a house in the 6300 block of West Plaza Circle at 5:40 p.m. Thursday.
Police went to the house at 10:45 a.m. with a felony warrant for the man's arrest but he refused to come out of the house.
Police then obtained a search warrant for the house in order to take the man into custody. The man surrendered to police at 5:40 p.m. without incident but other residents living in the house refused to allow police to execute the search warrant. Subsequently, police entered the house and arrested a 20-year-old man and 50-year-old woman.
Police said the felony arrest warrant for the 53-year-old man was the result of a repossession of a vehicle. At 2:30 a.m. Nov. 17, the man's car was repossessed. After the car was taken, it was searched and four weapons were found in the trunk, leading to the warrant.
Police are seeking charges of felon in possession of a firearm against the older man and will seek state charges of obstructing an officer against the woman and younger man for refusing to allow them to execute the search warrant at the house.
