North Shore Police Reports: July 10, 2014

BAYSIDE

1A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving after stopped for speeding 47 mph in a 35 mph zone on North Port Washington Road at West Brown Deer Road at 1:42 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2. The man, who slurred his words and failed field sobriety tests, admitted having "a little bit" to drink. His BAC was 0.10.

BROWN DEER

2Citations were issued on Wednesday, July 2, for a boy, age and residence not released, for possession of both marijuana and a facsimile fire arm, a BB gun, at Algonquin Park, 7850 N. 51st Street, at 5 p.m. on Friday, June 13. The boy told police that another boy pulled a gun on him after arranging to trade shoes and cash for an iPhone. However, a witness reported that didn't happen and saw the boy throw something under a bush as police arrived. That something was a baggie with 1.5 grams of marijuana.

3A woman reported the theft of $500 by someone using her ATM card at US Bank, 4200 West Brown Deer Road, at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 20. She had just made a withdrawal at the ATM and accidentally left her card. A white male, 30 to 45, used that card, withdrawing $500.

4A basketball hoop valued at $150 was rolled away from the back yard of a home in the 6600 block of W. Pierner Place sometime June 19 to 23. The resident said there were wheel marks leading to the bike path, adding that traffic on that path has caused some problems.

5A car was broken into but nothing taken in the 8300 block of North 46th Street June 22 or 23. Damage was $175.

6A Brown Deer female, age not released, reported that she'd been threatened by a 30-year-old man she met on the date website "Tinder" on Monday, June 23. The two exchanged sexually explicit photos and when she recently told him she wanted to end the relationship, he threatened to release those photos if she did.

7Two outdoor solar lanterns, value not listed, were reported taken from the 4700 block of West Spring Lane, at 7:25 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24.

8Two tires and rims valued at $300 were taken from a car in the 4400 block of West Dean Road overnight June 24 or 25. The car was found on blocks with damage of about $700.

9A male, age and residence not released, was arrested for theft of a $50 bike from the 4600 block of West Bradley Road about 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25. He was stopped after someone saw him riding that bike.

10A pit pull was found abandoned in a crate behind the Salvation Army, 4747 West Bradley Road, at 8:20 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25. The dog was turned over to MADACC.

11A woman, age and residence not released, was arrested for disorderly conduct/domestic violence related and a warrant after she scratched a man's face and pulled his hair in a parking lot in the 6000 block of West Brown Deer Road at 7:40 p.m. on Friday, June 27.

12A roll of toilet paper was set on fire in a bathroom at Old Navy, 9094 N. Green Bay Road, about 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 28. No other damage was reported.

13A woman reported the theft of her diamond and platinum ring valued at $12,000 after she left it on a bench for a few minutes in the women's locker room at YMCA, 9240 N. Green Bay Road, about 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 29.

FOX POINT

14Two females, not yet 21, residences not released, were arrested for underage drinking and open intoxicants after their car was stopped for speeding in the 7900 block of North Port Washington Road at midnight on Monday, June 30. Both admitted they had been drinking.

GLENDALE

15A wallet with driver's license, debit card and about $10 was taken from a car in the 2000 block of West Bernard Lane overnight June 24 or 25.

16A 44-year-old Glendale man was cited for damage to property after throwing a rock though a garage window in the 2100 block of West Woodbury Lane about 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25. The resident heard the glass break and went outside as the man yelled, "Who drove on my grass?"

17Three boys reported being approached by a woman who asked to use a cell phone outside Speedway, 6170 N. Green Bay Ave., at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25. She made two calls and then asked the boys if they wanted to sit in her car and pet her dog. They said no and rode their bicycles home and police were called. The boys said they had learned not to talk to strangers.

18A 2002 Hyundai valued at $5,000 was taken from the first floor of a garage at 5801 N. Lydell Ave. between 3:30 and 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 28. The owner said he thought it was locked but couldn't find his keys.

19A 44-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft of 13 clothing items valued at $180 at Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 29. The woman had 12 prior arrests, some for retail theft.

20A 23-year-old Glendale woman was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, after she was seen driving erratically in the 5500 block of North Mohawk Avenue at 2:20 a.m. on Monday, June 30. She told police she had one beer, then said it was two, then three. The woman, who failed field sobriety tests and had a preliminary BAC of 0.268, was taken for a blood draw.

21A locked 2013 Honda Civic, value not listed, was taken from the 6800 block of North Green Bay Avenue overnight June 29 or 30. A wallet and social security card were in the car.

22A jewelry box and safe, value not available, were taken from an office at Sprecher Brewing Co., 701 W. Glendale Ave., sometime May 7 to June 30.

23A Trek Mountain bike valued at $200 was taken from a back yard in the 6800 block of North Elm Tree Road sometime June 26 to 30.

24A 45-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested on two counts of theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and a warrant after taking four packages of t-shirts valued at $104 from Sears, 5900N. Port Road, at 4:15 p.m. and clothing valued at $113 from Sports Authority, 5850 N. Bayshore Drive, at 4:50 p.m. on Monday, June 30. Sears' security followed the man to the second store where he attempted to hide the items he had taken. The man was found carrying a crack pipe with residue.

25A 2012 Honda Civic was taken by a known male from the 6100 block of North Green Bay Avenue the morning of Saturday, June 21. It was returned a few days later but taken again by the same male who got into an accident and fled the scene on Tuesday, July 1. The case is under investigation.

RIVER HILLS

26A woman, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving in the 8100 block of North Green Bay Road at 7:47 p.m. on Friday, July 4. Her BAC was 0.23.

27A man, not yet 21, residence not released, was arrested for underage drinking, resisting arrest and obstruction after he was seen blocking traffic in the 800 block of West Brown Deer Road at midnight on Saturday, July 5. The man ran from police but was stopped a few blocks west.

28A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, and failure to stop for an emergency vehicle in the 1100 block of West Brown Deer Road at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, July 5. The man was taken for a blood draw.

SHOREWOOD

29A resident reported his roommate had taken 32 DVDs, value not listed, from the 4200 block of North Wilson Drive on Friday, June 27.

30A business owner reported a scam after receiving a call from "We Energies" saying his electricity would be cut off if he didn't write a check for $250 in the 4500 block of North Oakland Avenue at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, June 28. The caller said he would stop by to pick up the check. However, the check was not written because the owner knew it was a scam after receiving a similar call at his business in Wauwatosa. The caller never showed up.

31A Shorewood man and woman, ages not released, were arrested for possession of 2 grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the 4100 block of North Woodburn Street about 11 p.m. on Saturday, June 28. Police were called to a possible domestic situation with a baby crying. There was a strong odor of burnt marijuana in the residence and the marijuana and drug paraphernalia were seen on a table in plain view. The couple said they were just having a verbal argument.

32A backpack with a wallet, credit cards, $90 cash and a laptop computer valued at $200 cash was taken from a car in the 2300 block of East Capitol Drive between 2:30 and 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, and reported Wednesday, July 2.

33A Shorewood woman, age not released, was arrested for disorderly conduct/domestic violence related, after she pushed a man and hit him with a garden tool at 1 a.m. on Thursday, July 3. There was no information regarding injury.

34Jewelry and electronic items, value not yet available, were taken from the 4000 block of North Larkin Street between 12:50 and 2:05 p.m. on Thursday, July 3. A rear screen was cut to gain entry.

35Two women were caught on surveillance video taking five bottles of alcohol and numerous grocery items at Pick 'n Save, 4145 N. Oakland Ave., at 8 p.m. and reported at 9 p.m. on Thursday, July 3. The value of the items taken was not known.

WHITEFISH BAY

36A witness reported that a man exposed himself at Klode Park, 5900 N. Shore Drive, about 3:30 p.m. on Monday, June 30. He was a white male about 50 and balding, who drove off in a silver or grey sedan.

37About two dozen juveniles were reported "drinking and setting off fireworks" in the 2100 block of East Glendale Avenue at 10:10 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1. They fled into a home but the homeowner "refused to cooperate" and no citations were issued.

38A resident reported a fraud after someone used his social security number and had a debit card issued in his name to obtain $370 from Wisconsin Workforce Development on Wednesday, July 2.

39A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for attempted robbery in the 4800 block of North Lake Drive about 1 a.m. on Friday, July 4, and for robbery with use of force in the 4900 block of North Bartlett Avenue at 1:25 a.m. July 4. Another man, age and residence not released, was arrested for party to both crimes. In the first incident, the suspect demanded a man's wallet, threatening him with a bottle. That man took items out of his wallet, throwing them at the suspect to distract him, and ran away. In the second incident, the suspect took a man's wallet and then hit him in the head with a liquor bottle. The suspects fled in a green Dodge van that police stopped in the 4800 block of North Lake Drive.

40A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for theft and a warrant at CVS Pharmacy, 240 E. Hampton Ave., at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 4. The man took condoms, eight bottles of tequila and two of vodka, valued at $257, and attempted to flee.

41A woman, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving after being stopped for expired registration in the 5100 block of North Kimbark Place at 2:48 a.m. on Saturday, July 5. Her BAC was 0.11.

42A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, possession of 0.6 grams of marijuana, a parole violation and speeding 50 mph in a 30 mph zone in the 4800 block of North Lake Drive at 3:42 a.m. on Saturday, July 5. His BAC was 0.14.

43A bicycle, value not available, was taken from the 5800 block of North Shore Drive between noon and 5 p.m. on Friday, July 4, and reported Saturday, July 5.

44A Whitefish Bay man, age not released, was arrested for criminal trespass to dwelling after entering the wrong apartment and refusing to leave in the 100 block of West Silver Spring Drive at 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 5. After police were called, the man, who was "extremely intoxicated," climbed out on an exterior balcony and entered his own apartment where he was arrested.

45The tires on two bicycles were reported slashed at Big Bay Park, 5000 N. Palisades Road, one on the afternoon of Friday, July 4, and the other about 4 p.m. Sunday, July 6.

NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT

Firefighters responded to 135 calls, 96 emergency medical and 39 fire/rescue, June 23 to 29 and 166 emergency medical and 98 fire/rescue June 30 to July 6.

A motor vehicle fire was reported in the 6700 block of N. Sidney Place at 8;22 a.m. June 24. The owner was leaving for work when she saw flames coming from the engine. She attempted to put it out but it was too big. No other cars were damaged.
