New Traffic Control Signs in the Village

The Village of Brown Deer recently approved the speed limit change from 35 miles per hour to 30 miles per hour on N. 60th St., from W. County Line Rd until W. Bradley Rd.  This change has gone into effect as the new 30 mile per hour speed limit signs are erected, accompanied with orange flags.

There have also been numerous yellow “School Zone” signs added in the area of the schools.  These signs alert drivers that they are entering a school zone and drivers need to be aware of children in the area of the roadway and crosswalks.  If a subject is present at a crosswalk, drivers must stop their vehicle and allow the subject to cross the street.  If motorists are found to have violated a Wisconsin Motor Vehicle Law, when children are present, penalties for their violation will double.  The main idea behind these changes is to ensure children’s safety and to get vehicles to SLOW DOWN!!!!
