SOTOMAYOR IS PERFECT CHOICE
Thank you again President Obama for your superb intelligence and insight. You are a shining beacon of hope to Americans who deal in the REAL world. Putting aside the selfish, devious, and conservative expressions of past presidents, you have selected a woman to fill the Supreme Court vacancy who brings more experience and wisdom to the highest bench than anyone currently serving there. Not one of the current Supreme Court Justices can match her credentials. Oh, how she will lift the Court out of the morass of Scalia and Thomas!
Sonia Sotomayor is a woman and a Hispanic, to be sure. And it is good that those two factions are represented on the Court. But summa cum laude from Princeton and a leading role at Yale Law School puts her in a unique position. Bringing her humble beginnings, bringing her amazing accomplishments against horrendous odds, bringing her intellect, bringing her experience, and bringing her uniquely American touch to the Court transcends that of any recent nominee.
President Barack Obama indicates once again that we are on the threshold of something very special in American history. And his appearence came at a pivotal time in this country's history. Following attempts to violently overthrow elected President FDR. following the terror of McCarthyism, following the scary House UnAmerican Activities Committee, following the John Birch Society, following the murder of JFK and Martin Luther King, following the private and unregulated corporate revolution of Reagan, following the immorality of Clinton, following the secret fascism of Bush-Cheney, the United States of America was moving tragically in the wrong direction. Not many seemed to notice all this. Only the economic earthquake of the Bush administration's doing could shake the U.S. to take a look at the mess we had made of this promising nation.
George Bush #I chose Sotomayor for a federal judgeship. Yet the right-wingers will concoct some scenario to try and discredit this marvelous nominee. By now we certainly should have had enough destruction by the right-wing. The U.S. is being led back on track by an intelligent President who happens to be the first African American elected to that high office ...and he is making the most of it for this beloved nation. The fresh air is exhilarating.
