A Good Democrat
I can't believe it either. A week after I got tired of hearing the Anthony Wiener story, I'm bringing it up myself. My first impression of Wiener was that he wasn't loud, overbearing twerp. Yes, most of this is based on our differences in politics. But he was a rising star in the Democratic Party. Now he has become the butt of many a joke. Yes, most of them are because of his name. But the latest ones he has brought on himself. It's like he picked his own name.
The comments in the blogosphere to make me chuckle. I'm surprised by the amount of people who still make cracks that would be funny if you were a 13-year-old. So even though it will laugh at them once, I won't repeat them. Not all of them.

Raising My Glass
I was quite pleased earlier this week when I heard the statement from County executive Chris Abele's office. He is not going to spend taxpayer money on a modern art project.
Contrary to popular belief, art is not universal. Like everything else in life, there are some things that you like individually, and there are some things that you don't like. Some things just don't appeal to us. This should make us bad or evil people, that's just the way we humans are.

In Favor Of. . .
Like many news junkies, I like to look at the polls. The politicians like to look at them too, although they deny being influenced by them. The most prominent poll that comes on a regular basis is the poll on presidential approval. Two half years ago, President Obama started out fairly high in the presidential approval ratings. This, of course, was expected. And as everybody knows, it's all downhill from there.
Except for a brief spike after the assassination of Osama bin Laden, President Obama has been in the high 40s hovering just below 50% approval. I sometimes wonder why it is still that high. President Obama is seeking a second term from the American people and this far into his term, it should not be out of order to look for some actual results of his presidency.

COMMENTS UPON RETURN
When I left for major surgery, I respectfully asked to not have any comments while I was recuperating. Most of you respected that request. Some of you did not. Not showing a minimum of respect is low indeed.
Not only did some of you continue commenting, but you continued and increased your past level of bigotry and racism. That is disgusting.
