SOCIAL DEMOCRACY HELPS, BUT CAPITALISM WENT NUTS
Will we finally learn from this economic disaster, or are we going to have to go through this again in the years ahead? You have been fleeced by runaway capitalism in the U.S. And now you have been called upon to "save" the capitalists who stole from you and now want you to be their savior. Here is what American capitalism wants from you:
No regulations on capitalism's profits, use the general populace's taxes to pay for capitalism's losses. What a deal!
I wish I could grab every American by the arms and shake them, tell them to remember how they have been robbed and taken advantage of by big business in the U.S. And awaken them from their slumber to point out unfettered capitalism manipulated Americans to vote for the neocon lackey politicians like Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush. The more ignorant the president, the more he could be made a puppet for corporate behemoths [at YOUR expense].
We went through this with Republican corporate puppets in the 1920s who supported everything big capitalism wanted. And when it all came crashing down on America and a deep depression ensued. It was a social democrat, yes a man from the left-wing, Franklin D. Roosevelt, who saved us. The federal government had to step in to save capitalism from its own greed and suicidal actions. Now we are again in such a demise. The average citizen in the U.S. suffers most.
And we STILL have a candidate for president, John McCain, who has continuously declared that regulations were not needed, and capitalism's markets could take care of everything. Oh, he mentioned some cautionary words here and there, but he blatantly did the bidding for Big Business and fought against any regulations of corporations, banks, etc.
If Barack Obama is elected president in November, we must INSIST that he and the Democrats set up an economic and political system in which the market is regulated and banks are held to higher standards. Corporations and huge business enterprises must be told in no uncertain terms: the years for gouging Americans are over. You will conduct business in an ethical-moral way or you will be closed up. Period!
But, as the song goes: When will they ever learn, when will they ever learn?
