U.S. MEDIA CLUELESS ON SYRIA
There have been tens of thousands of anti-Assad people complaining and even demonstrating against the current regime in Syria for some time. It never got organized. Now, suddenly, there is greater organization and even a Free Syrian Army. Suddenly everything has escalated. Suddenly military officers are defecting from the Syrian army. Suddenly the Western press puts Syria in its headlines. Suddenly the Arab League starts to pay attention to what is happening inside an Arab nation. Suddenly...suddenly...suddenly............
What's going on? You won't find out by listening to or reading or watching American media. U.S. news organizations are clueless, and think that the uprising in Syria is instantaneous combustion. Wrong!
Events that are accelerating in Syria are tied to the final stages of Iran's development of a nuclear weapon. Almost no nation wants to see Iran have nuclear weaponry in its arsenal. Making matters even more dangerous is the fact that outside forces, including the U.S. and Israel, do not know who is actually in charge in Iran; who makes the REAL decisions? Is it the political leadership in Iran, or the religious leadership? Trying to put together an organized anti-Iran coalition is very-very difficult. Who will ultimately make the strike against Iran to stop its nuclear weapon developments? Will it be Israel? The U.S.? It may be that a decision has already been made, and most of the Arab nations have agreed to stand aside when the strike happens. The Arab League sent representatives to Syria to see what is happening on the ground and to get a feel of the Assad mentality. Syria is closely allied with Iran. Syria must be silenced and/or diverted when the strike on Iran happens.
There is now a rare agreement among the Arab League and the West, including, reluctantly, Israel. It relates to Iran and the tremendous threat that nation poses if it has nuclear weapons to threaten the stability in the Middle East and elsewhere. Imagine an Iran in discussions with terrorist groups about sharing nuclear weapons against the West and divergent Islamic nations. A true horror.
Yes, events in Syria are tied to developments in Iran. And its about time the American media wakes up and begins to report it.
