The United States of America has been given a terrible list of potential presidential candidates and Presidents. And the current President is no prize. What is wrong with America in this regard?
Going back over the past 100 years or so, the U.S. has had a sad list of presidential candidates and Presidents. FDR was an exception, and his marvelous administration stands in stark contrast to the horrors of Ronald Reagan, Calvin Coolidge, George W. Bush, and the rest of the men who strove for mediocrity. This nation deserve better, much better.
What makes the current state of affairs in presidential politics is that now, more than ever, wealthy and greedy corporations hold sway in decision-making by the man in the White House. The President of the United States has become little more than a puppet, a stooge for selfish interests. We now have the most powerful nation in the world, with the power to do immense good, serving at the hands of the military-industiral complex. Wars are started to enhance the bottom-line for corporations and other interests. Men and women by the many thousands lose their lives to increase the profits of powerful corporations. Sad. And yet there are millions and millions of voters who serve as lackeys for these interests. It is amazing that any educated person in an industrial society cannot see through the manipulation of the American populace. You are like a stooge or rube at a carnival called American politics.
We no longer have a democracy or honest capitalistic society in America. We have an economic oligarchy that can never get enough profit to be satisfied. The oligarchy that rules the U.S. is getting more powerful and it stands in stark contrast to the dwindling middle class and growing lower class. It is sickening to see what is happening in America. It is also sickening that the voting public have blinders on and march to the orders of these same greedy corporations. We are a goose-stepping state, and if you are relatively comfortable you no longer give a damn about the poor and underserved who are growing and growing. The disparity of wealth in America is an insult to both democracy and capitalism.
Do you really think that the United States of America has qualfied people running for its highest office who bear names and reputations and lack of intellect like the current line-up vying for the GOP nomination?
The United States of America is in decline. A small percentage drain the bulk of wealth from the system. A small percentage start wars. A small percentage kill programs to serve the needy and underserved. A small percentage believe that lying and deception can be used to increase the wealth of the few. A small percentage will do anything for their own comfort, even if it means being a major part of America's decline. A small percentage will say or do anything to provide for their own comfort.
We had no business starting wars in Iraq, Vietnam, Greneda, etc. But business was helped by each of those wars. Who caused them? You figure it out. Who profited? You figure it out. Who was hurt by those unnecessary wars? You figure it out. Who paid the price? Who lost their lives? Who suffers from war injuries, physical and mental? Where does the bulk of our naitonal budget go? Why has there been a tremendous increase in the numbers of working poor in America? How much leverage do you have with special-interest groups buying politicians? Who represents you in Congress or the White House? What has happened to your relative position in the well-being of America?
You are the sucker in all this. Wake up! Don't keep your blinders on. America is being stolen from you, piece by piece. Your sons and daughters are dying, not being able to afford a college education, are struggling with health care as insurance companies profit mightily, you have no real voice in selecting political candidates for Congress or the Presidency; you are the stooge, the rube, the hayseed.
Wake up, America!
