Sanctioning government murder via capital punishment.
Preventing proper and necessary sex education in our schools.
Turning the other cheek with bombers, missiles, drones, tanks, and lots of big business hardware.
In the nation of equal rights, preventing women from serving in the clergy.
Sermons condemning President Obama and saying he is going to hell.
Lies about the reason to invade Iraq .....and Grenada, and Vietnam, etc.
Praising wealth, greed, selfishness.
Current moves to withdraw the poor, disabled, and children from social services.
Class warfare.
Equating wealth with knowldege, hard work, insight, etc. "It would be easier for a wealthy man to go through the eye of a needle..."
Political candidates and their handlers and financers put up a cardboard Jesus in the window of their headquarters, and then back up huge trucks of money at the back door to finance the greed and selfish agenda of some interest group . It is a scam! It is a sham! For goodness sake, if you want to profess to be a Christian, read the Sermon on the Mount. Do you see any Koch brothers lauded there? Do you see any wealthy people put forward as examples? Do you not recognize comments about loving your enemy and turning the other cheek? Trying to use lies even in presenting Jesus of Nazareth is about as low as one can go. Wake up!
There is plenty to do for real Christians in serving the poor, loving all people, promoting peace, and sacrificing to serve the needy. Perhaps America needs a Christian re-awakening, and it isn't the kind the charlatans from the right-wing are heralding. Pray for peace. Pray for the poor. Pray to have people truly follow the Nazarene. He set a clear example, as did most of history's leading religious people. Try it, for a change. The cardboard Jesus is disgusting.
