TEA PARTY IGNORANCE
Coming out of a Republican Party caucus, a freshman Congressmen had many comments to offer. He is a loyal Tea Party supporter. His swaggering comments about being taken lightly because he was new to Congress, he assured us that he would not be tossed aside by old leadership in the GOP.
He refused to support the Speaker of the House and his budget proposal because of "all that money" that was there for Pell Grants." Why should taxpayers support these college kids, he offered. He never got a dime and never went to college. Well, that was obvious.
He seemed totally oblivious to the impact that his silly actions had on the future of his local area, his state, his region, his nation, and the world. Pell grants were his focus. Who needs these college kids? Of course he was disinterested that American kids continue to slide downward in academics. The future of the U.S. is being eroded by poorly educated American youth. Who cares? Besides, some of those kids getting Pell Grants were "those people." Let them get their own money to pay for the privilege of going to some ritzy college. They just turn these minority kids into liberals. Look at Barack Obama!
Imagine, Speaker of the House John Boehner having to deal with people like this! Imagine, the leading nation in the world at the whim of some Tea Party goof.
Republicans should be embarrassed at these ignorant people in their midst. They are leading their party and their nation into a swamp. Wake up! Grow up!
