CAN MURDOCH SAVE HIS EMPIRE?
Rupert Murdoch is rushing to Britain to try and save his crumbling print and broadcast empire, and to save his son Jimmy from going to prison. Can he save it? Absolutely!
There are enough big corporations who need his cover and his phony news stories to promote their greed. Right-wing politicians in the U.S. absolutely depend on FOX News and the Murdoch disceptions to build their careers. There has been a huge shift in America and the world toward big money.
Do you think BP and Exxon-Mobil will be adequately punished for the deadly explosions in Texas, the deaths and terminal illnesses from fracking, the Louisiana Gulf Spill, the Montana Yellowstone River pollution, and the failure to pay the victims of the Valdez oil spill in Alaska? Nope. Big corporations run the show.
Who was punished for lying to Congress and the American people about Iraq? Nobody. There was too much money made by huge corporations in the process of that illegal war in Iraq.
How many years has it been that we have had troops in Iraq after "Mission Accomplished"?
How's that democracy thingy workin' out in Afghanistan?
Did Halliburton ever have to answer for the missing hundreds of millions of dollars in Iraq? Nope.
Who in their right mind stilll thinks of Murdoch and FOX as legitimate news organizations? Murdoch and FOX are money-producing machines. OK, so they have to hire Republican presidential candidates to be commentators. OK, so they paid off the cops in Britain. OK, so Glenn Beck is a crude jerk. OK, so Murdoch and his newspapers have paid off British politicians. OK, so the Murdoch folks hacked the phones of people suffering in the midst of a personal tragedy. OK, so a couple of Murdoch editors have gone to jail and been arrested. OK, so journalists see FOX News as being at the bottom of the news gathering barrel. OK, so Murdoch appeals to the least cultured, the least educated, the least informed, the most greedy, and the most gullible.
No matter which news source you read, listen to, and watch, you can readily determine that Murdoch and FOX are obnoxious, crude, and without principles. But, boy, do they make money! That's capitalism.
