ANY REAL MEN LEFT?

Booo!  Did you reach for your sidearm?  Did you run for your rifle?  Did you immediately think of getting your automatic weapon?  Or can you get through Halloween without carrying a concealed weapon?

Where are the real men?  Yes, when this was a frontier and disorganized group of backward colonies without any police force, men needed weapons to survive.  They actually hunted to provide food for their family.  In 1776 having a gun was an important part of one's life [as a coonskin cap, pellets, and musket might be].  It is understandable that a militia should be guaranteed in the Constitution.  After all, we were a baby nation that needed the meager resources it had to defend itself.  Understandable.

But today, too many men see guns as a physical extension of their inadequate male plumbing.  Needing a gun can be an example of feelings of personal inadequacy and/or sexual limitations.  Real men do not absolutely need a gun to be a man.

Throughout our history we have had swarms of immigrations from China, Italy, Greece, Germany, etc.  Nobody screamed that they needed to have a gun to protect themselves from the immigrants.  Today it is used as an excuse by wimpy men who need to have a weapon to feel like a man.

Hunting?  C'mon, what's with the hunting excuse?  Is it a real man who goes out into a protected forest with a mechanized, high-powered, telescopic rifle to shoot one of the most timid and shy animals in the woods: a deer [from a hundred yards or more].  This is how you express your manhood?  Have you tried beef?  We could manage the deer herd, feed hungry people, and avoid trying to fill the need some men have to show faux-virility.

Today's example of a militia is a guy with a gun, who likes to have it concealed so he thinks he is putting  one over on the rest of stupid society, and struts his way around in which he would otherwise be seen as something less than a man.

Your gun will protect you from the government?  What do you do when an armored tank, a SWAT team, and a drone missile show up outside your house?  Call on your Smith and Wesson?  C'mon, get real.

Show me a man who absolutely has to have a gun and I will show you a man who probably should not have a gun.

The vast majority of police and law enforcement groups have fought against concealed weapons and other armed craziness.

If you want to advocate for guns, at least be man enough to use real information.  For use as an extension of one's manhood, or to shoot an innocent deer, or to protect oneself from the U.S. Government's Army, Navy, and Marines is not enough.  Sorry.  Be a man!

*****I'm not against guns.  I'm against the lame excuses used in their support.  Very, very few of us need a gun.  To use some contrived excuse to advocate for guns is the sign of a weak man.  If you want to advocate for something, get in and defend what is being taken away from us by more ignorance: our rights to labor negotiations, adequate funds for schools, support for the arts, veterans' benefits, preserving our environment, adequate healthcare for everyone in the U.S., ad infinitum.  Be a man!
